Since
the emphasis on road safety is of paramount importance, Dambach have
developed a range of products to reduce speed related traffic
incidents. These products range from school signs, speed reduction
signs as well as overheight vehicle detection systems.
Because
there is a need for speed reduction in rural areas and villages, one
problem is the lack of mains power. It is because of this that
Dambach UK have developed a highly efficient solar/wind powered speed
warning sign which can be sited at any location to suit the customer.
The
sign is powered by the use of a single 24v dc wind turbine and/or two 12v
dc solar panels that charge two 12v batteries housed within the sign.
Once
a vehicle has been detected (either by the use of a microwave vehicle
detector placed on top of the sign or loop detectors set in the road) the
sign is activated and the warning message displayed.
The
sign itself is capable of displaying a variety of different
messages/graphics in a range of colours so long as they comply with
Highways Agency and local authority guidelines.
