Because the emphasis on our UK roads network is information and control, Dambach have designed and produced a range of signs and systems to make the motorists life easier.

It is with this in mind that Dambach developed a range of prisms signs (known as PR / PWS) that displays three different messages predetermined to cope with local traffic conditions.

Our PR/PWS signs consist of prism sections secured either into the front face of the enclosure or set behind a clear vandal-proof plastic screen.  All are made out of 3mm aluminium sheet, folded and welded to suit customer specification.  The sign is then painted and sign faced as required.

There are basically two types of prism sign currently available, i.e. PR and PWS. PR signs can have prism widths of 100mm, 150mm and 200mm with the maximum sign face area of 2.5m x 5m (H x W).  PWS signs have prism widths of either 450mm or 500mm with a maximum sign face area of 7m x 8m (H x W).  These dimensions can be doubled with the use of a central bearing carrier.

The prism section is driven via worm gears and an industry standard DC motor with overload protection with prism alignment being achieved using limit switches.

To allow system interface a controller is housed either within the sign enclosure or set alongside in a separate cabinet to allow the local setting of the VM prisms by key switch if necessary.

As well as the prism inserts, the enclosure also holds a thermostatically controlled heater to minimise condensation as well as signfix channel attached to the rear of the enclosure to allow fixing to sign posts.

PR/PWS have proven to be hugely popular to be customers and motorists due to economic cost and clarity of message.
